I set my grandparents up on a 350mhz powermac g4 about 7 months ago and they love it. I use a powermac g3 400mhz every once in a while to play some older great games, "You Don't Know Jack" They are truly great machines.
Getting to the point, for video cards try lowendmac.com they have forums dedicated to ppc and I'm sure they have all the different and best cards available for your g5.

They are backed up on DVD-R's and on a FW Hard Drive (and on my iPod). Maybe too many backups :)

Just watch-- the DVD-Rs will be scratched, the FW hard drive will have some... malady, and you'll be left with your iPod. crazy go nuts!

I have a white iPhone4, I have no issues with the sensor or drop of signal at all :)
I was waiting on the 5 but have always wanted a white iPhone, my 3GS is black and so far I'm very pleased indeed :D

Technically you can't return a digital download so they would in effect be giving it to you free hence the lack of refunds.
It is the same reason retailers don't have to offer refunds on CDs, DVDs or Games (at least in the UK). You can quite easily buy the CD or whatever, rip it and then return it and get it for free.
+1. In the U.S. its actually illegal (for the business) to return an opened copy of a software or CD and exchange it for something else (I understand the OPs situation is different). I used to work at Circuit City and Best Buy about 12 years ago (and before that KB Toys) and we used to have training on this. Any exception that is made results in the store taking the full hit.
Digital downloads obviously can't be refunded because who's to say someone didn't keep the file on their computer?

To whomever asked about the trackpad, no it seems fine to me. And i took it to class today, and it was jsut fine. Still haven't given it a full class workout yet, as I want to wait till i have a bag to carry it in.
Maybe I need to workout some more, but man, my campus is huge and I get sick of carrying around my 15", much less a 17". As much as I would love to...

When you do q <- 0, R is going to apply the "<- 0" to the entire vector of q. And if you haven't created q before this, q will just be set equal to either 0 or 1. What you're asking R to do is if any value in socscore is less or equal to than 3, assign 0 to q, otherwise assign 1 to q. I'm assuming you want q to be a vector of 0's and 1's corresponding to whether socscore <= 3 or not?

Reminder don't use a dog to spray the screen in the future.
Of course some of the other junk could be building up on the screen, certainly hate the stuff that builds up on polycarb headlights and turns them yellow. PIA to clean (most it's the remembering to do it that's hard).

i too am still a beginner at photography but it to me, it seems like the plants in the foreground of the first picture just get in the way. They seem to hide part mountain. i sorta don't know whether i should be looking at the mountain or the plants in front of it.

Question is in the title. Any thoughts? I know there was an Apple computer that sold for quite a bit a few weeks ago, but I'm sure it was way older. It's in perfect condition and I even have an old Apple printer for it (which works as well). Thanks. :apple:

Is there a benefit to having fonts activated and deactivated on the fly?
yeah, so you don't have to put the fonts you want to use in user/library/fonts by hand, like citizenzen and you recommended.
but i agree, what citizenzen added, that there's more important stuff to take care of than solely choosing the typeface. but for organisazion, overview and samples the fontexplorer comes in handy.
at least it does for my work.

Well yea you're on a Mac forum so you're going to get a lot of Mac replies... which IMO is all you need ;)
But seriously... if you want extreme portability a MBA will do great... the 13 inch ones are slim and have amazing battery life; if you're willing to get the 1.4/1.6ghz dual core instead of a 2.x one (dual), then you should be set. They all have the glass trackpad which is great as well.
Like I posted before though, I would suggest a MBP. They are still very portable and small in size compared to other laptops and have a performance (and build) increase compared to the regular, polycarbonate Macs.
What are you planning on doing with your computer? Where are you taking it? These things would help us out a lot :)
