i've got one for you, but mine is version '9.0.4' instead of '9.2.2' like the link above. also have the matching 'Software Restore' disc, and an 'iMac Applications' disc also stamped but looks to be later as it's a lighter shade of gray. i know that i used the disc to install 9.0.4 on a b&w g3, so this should work for you.
i've no use for them, if you want them, pm you mailing address and i'll slap a couple stamps on them and send them on. best of luck with the restore project.

The iMac Applications disc will be for 9.2.2 and X, however may work (It should have iMovie 2 for OS 9 on it if its the same disc I have - mine is from a G4/700 15" iMac, dated 2002 with iLife 3 for X and iMovie 2 for OS 9 on it), but it probably shipped with a G4 iMac, and if it has iDVD on it, that wont work (as well as all the X-Gubbins on those discs).

My take is that because Apple can NOT guarantee that any specific machines will make it onto their refurb section, if you see a deal you like, grab it! They really do sell out. Just last week I saw a slew of refurb 12" iBooks and I just checked now and only saw one listed model of a 12"er.

The 2011 runs hotter than the 2010. It has a faster CPU and a GPU on the same core while the cooling and enclosure design hasn't changed. For gaming the 2010 and 2011 are almost the same (the 2010 coming on top in most cases).
The fan noise is a given when your running under heavy load. You can get slightly better results if you reapply thermal paste like I did, but at best your fans will run around 5500 rpm under load.
There currently is no solution to lower the cpu performance for reduced heat by undervolting like coolbook used to do.
I can only suggest getting earphones or cranking up the volume or simply exchanging for another mac (some are cooler than others).
BTW I do not get loud fan noise watching flash (even in hd), just games, and recording from the facetime camera in quicktime or imovie. Running facetime under normal conditions does not make my fans noisy.

I have Simple Mobile service. I had been told to disable the 3G option on my iPhone 3gs. Now I have a new iPhone 4. With Gevey, can I now use the 3G enable? Will my phone work on 3G network? Thank you!

4.3.1 didn't bring much but 4.3 brought improvements on AirPlay, safar, added home sharing options, iPad sloder switch option, and added the hotspot feature.

Since the current MacPro is old tech with SATA 2, spending on a vertex 3 or intel 510 SSD is not an option :(
But if I buy a OCZ Revodrive x2 100 gb PCI Express card and place OSx and programs in that it will be even faster than the vertex 3 with SATA 3 support. But does the current MacPro work with SSD PCI express cards ?

Try an IBM Thinkpad... in reviews, they often mention the quality of the keyboard, and having had one for a while, I would agree.

A certain company is trying to shift product udpates away from major Expos. They've found that the lack of orders directly preceding an expo, as well as the expo dates not agreeing with major edu buying schedules have made this a bad idea.
You can expect to see new software releases at all Apple expos, and sometimes product introductions, but I think that will be it in the future.
This allows for a more consistent sales pattern, and keeps you guessing as to when updates arrive.

This is indeed a well known issue with cubes. Some people were affected immediately, and others only after a period of time like you.
My cube has a 'seizure' about once every 4 months and it will do this for an hour or two and then correct itself and be fine again.
There have been numerous causes and solutions suggested and it appears that different things work for different machines.
The usual cause is the proximity switch - the touch sensitive one on top of the cube. Most people report that the switching on and off is caused by a badly fitting or loose gasket around this switch inside the cube.
Some people say that making sure this gasket is seated firmly will cure the problem, and others have had this replaced (for free) by Apple.
I have never found this to be the case with mine, it just seems to have a mind of its own, for short spells every now and again.
Some people have also reported that this happens on hot days or when the air-con is swithed off. I've not noticed this (as I live in the UK it never gets hot!).
There have been hundreds of discussions on this topic since the cube was introduced and you can probably find some useful info on the web.
I'm not sure why Apple have not provided more help on this topic given what a widespread issue it was/is, but I just searched Google for "Apple Cube Switch problem" and it came back with a lot of links. I used to be a professional musician and recently decided to get back into doing some demo tracks. I have an fully loaded MacBook Pro with Garage Band. I took the GarageBand course, bought a little M-Audio Keyboard and procuced two original tunes; great! Now however, I want to go a bit further so I went into B&H Electronics in NYC and bought the Tascam (model above). The sales person told me that I would be able to plug my Yamaha and Kruzweil keyboards into the unit and that the voices from these instruments could be recorded into GarageBand. Same with the microphone and my harmonic decoder. So far, the only thing I have bee able to do is record my Ovation Guitar. I cannot get the device to recognize my keyboards or my microphone. I am ready to return it. Does anyone out there have any experience on how to make this device work?

the problem with spymac is a lot of the people... they just aren't as fun as macrumors is...
that and i hate the functionality of their boards. they have too many graphics all over the place with their logo, menu, and chat box.

...my guess is that 604e at the very highest reasonable level is at 15,000, and G3 at 20,000 but i would assume much lower for those levels and maybe G4 is at 20,000
...and G5 at 50,000 or 100,000 since it would be no fun for someone to reach that and have nothing to loook forward to
it could be that G5 is set at a million to make it unattainable:p
note: maybe arn has not decided yet what to give people beyond a 601 and there is no set level for the next level

Apple's update pattern on displays has been more or less infrequent lately. Just buy now, there is absolutely no idea about the next gen ACD.
