I'm pleased to see the Folding@Home made the top 10 at number 6. It goes for a team effort by MacRumors members. Most important use is that we are able to assist for gene research of diseases at Stanford.

The x-rite colormunki photo allows you to calibrate your monitors, projectors, and printers. It is a bit pricey, however you can receive a $50 rebate and a color checker free from x-rite now.
I have seen the colormunki photo priced at $499, but B & H and Amazon have it for $449.
I supplied the links below.

I checked to see if the store would let me select the new $299 16GB iPod touch or the new nanos, but according to the "Get a Free iPod" screen,
"iPod models introduced on September 9, 2008 are not eligible for this promotion."
:(

Hello. I hope to watch TV on my MBP, PC and iPad. What suggestions do you have? I heard that it is possible to watch streaming live TV programs on computers and iPad through wireless connections. What are the pros and cons of using this method vs. getting a USB TV tuner? I can imagine that with the former approach, several devices can watch different TV programs at the same time while the 2nd approach requires different TV tuners for different devices. Also, watching streaming live TV may not be enjoyable due to interruptions caused by wireless connection?
I found the following products:
USB TV Tuner
http://www.avermedia.com/avertv/product/ProductList.aspx?IID=18
Steaming device
http://www.avermedia.com/avertv/Product/ProductDetail.aspx?Id=524
The digital signals used in my area (Hong Kong) is DMB-TH.
Any user experience/recommended products appreciated. Thanks.

Hey Guys!
I've got another harddisk for my macbook, and was wondering if it is possible to change the one currently in, with the other one. Then installing Lion on that one to try it out, and if I want to, change back to the harddisk with Snow Leopard on it..
Hope I made myself clear :)
I have 2 HDD and want lion on one of them and my existing snow leopard on the other. And then exchange the harddisk's back and forth :)
Thanks in advance!

Coming from Windows it's very annoying to have to open two windows to move files between folders. I would much prefer being able to cut-and-paste files and folders.
That wouldn't be a good idea, as if you then cut or copied something else, the first item would be deleted for good.Windows actually handles this quite well. You can cut file(s)/folder(s) and if you cut or copy something else before pasting, the cut is cancelled and the original file(s)/folder(s) are back where they were as if nothing ever happened.

Love 180's even though I don't use them, but I worked in a high end sports store for a long time, and they're quality. I'd be fine using my iPod earbuds with a pair of regular 180s, though. I don't like the idea of using the earbuds that come with those 180s. Hell, even Quicksilver used to sell toques with earphones built into them. They sucked.

I just added my Hotmail account to Apple's mail program tonight.
However, I didn't really like the setup so I went to delete the mailbox (hoping it would just simply remove the account from the program) when I was told it would delete all the messages and the account. I however, don't want to lose the Hotmail account or the messages contained on them. I would like to be able to use my Hotmail account again later and still refer to the messages.
My question would be: Is there a way to just simply not have my Hotmail account connected with Apple's mail program? And if so, how?
If I need to explain any better, I will most certainly try. I would just be grateful for any help that I can receive. I am not very familiar with the "Mail" program.

Hi
I am thinking about getting a new GPU for my Mac Pro (Early 2008).
I run Windows 7 64bit all the time.
I plan to take out the old 8800GT and keep it safe until needed.
I am thinking about getting either a Gigabyte 460 SOC (http://www.guru3d.com/article/gigabyte-geforce-gtx-460-soc-review) or a Gigabyte 560 Ti SOC (http://www.guru3d.com/article/gigabyte-gtx-560-ti-soc-review).
It has to be Nvidia and these seem like great value for money.
I have brought a spare Mac PCI-Express power cable (http://www.welovemacs.com/9227128.html) and now have a total of two.
The reviews at Guru3d suggests that the max power needed is about 350 watts for both the 460 (http://www.guru3d.com/article/gigabyte-geforce-gtx-460-soc-review/7) and the 560 (http://www.guru3d.com/article/gigabyte-gtx-560-ti-soc-review) - or am I reading it incorrectly?!
I think I read somewhere that the Mac Pro (Early 2008) would output a total of 300 watt PCI power.

$375? WOW. That is way too much. I paid $360 for an 8gb unlocked and as others have previously stated an 8gb refurb goes for $249. Although you cannot get an 8gb for that price easily, they do have them in stock from time to time and even on ebay an 8gb that is not a refurb can be bough for $325-400 as i've seen them go for that price myself. Maybe you'd be better off offering it in a trade+cash or just lower the price by alot. Just look around and you'll see more or less how much you can really get for it..

Getting very excited about launch day tomorrow! Anyone planning on lining up at the Apple Store in Boca Raton Town Center Mall. If so, can you please post with your time of planned arrival?
Probably arriving around 5 pm.
