Sounds like the wifi chip was ready to die and on its last leg.
Deactivating the sim had nothing to do with it, just happened around the same time.
so when it worked was just a fluke? :(
Is there any way to get it fixed for cheap? I wanted to give this phone to my sis overseas.

Is there no way to get the iMac to remain region free?
What if you use VLC instead of the DVD Player?
This is by far the easiest way--VLC should play the disc no matter the region coding.

navigation is absolutely positioned and if need be, the highest z-index. i.e.
css:
body{
position: relative;
}
ul#nav{
width: 100%;
position: absolute;
top:0;
left:0;
z-index: 1000;
}
just make sure that there's no class, id, element that has position relative prior to the navigation or else that absolute position is going to be relative to that element.

All i can come up with is spammy software. I currently use Phoneview to transfer files however it's pretty buggy software, crashes a lot and i get a lot of permission errors. I think there's an upgrade but i'm leaning away from paying upgrade and finding something new.
What's everyone else in hacks using?:)
ninja edit: just stumbled upon iPhone explore (http://www.macroplant.com/iphoneexplorer/)r, users saying it's buggy and not as good as phoneview however i'll give it a spin.

Apple also makes storage solutions.

That does sound like you've recieved something already on its death bed.
Try getting hold of your supplier and see if you can get a replacement?
Its actually his old iphone 3G that has the issue not the new iphone 4 he received.

I believe you can run up to 10.2.8 on a Beige, but I agree that it's getting a bit too old to be usable these days.

I'm sorry to be such a dolt on this ... But once you press play and then pause, how do you create a playhead from where it pauses WITHOUT using the mouse? Once I use the mouse it moves the playhead. And then once one is created, how do I create a second?

I see the Alarm Clock app does, in fact, have an auto-lock option for both battery and charger! Renews my faith in the developer! :confused: Silly mind I have sometimes.

No, the audio gauge isn't showing anything, it just says that the device has no input controls. (The volume control gauge doesn't even come up)
I checked the audio midi configuration and again, while my computer recognises the audiobox, it won't let me choose "use this device for sound input" in the action pop up menu. Is this a driver issue?
Thanks so much for your help, I really appreciate your ideas.

A microphone signal output is too low to plug right into your computer.This is where a microphone pre amp comes in,it boosts the gain of the signal to a high enough level to record with your PC.I think a hardware compressor would be of use.Saving you possible processing time on the computer, but I don't think you really need it.I imagine they employ some safety measures like this in broadcast.

I have not seen anything like you're describing. I'd suggest you trade/replace your glossy display assembly with someone who BTO a matte display. Otherwise it's not really an economic "upgrade"
