It does sound like a great experience from what I've heard. I understand that it's a fairly new scheme.
I've actually applied already :D
Best of luck then!

In the time you spent "testing", you could have just turned it off. Look under Energy Pref Pane.

The installation discs that come with Macs are model-specific and are not for use on other models.
Might want to reread the original post.

One would hope that they'd update it by the middle of the year, but they did take about 19 months between the 07 and the early 09 Mac Minis, so if that's anything to go by, though unlikely it's possible the next update could be as late as early next year.
DarthMoops any Mac currently sold by Apple is called a new Mac even if it hasn't been updated for 18 months, it's still called a new Mac.

What's the line like now? Was thinking about leaving in an hour but itching to get there sooner.
Sorry man! I didn't think to check my laptop again. I got there at 1:30 and when they were passing out the tickets, I was closer to the end of the line, but was still able to get my 32GB black. The 3G models were sold out the quickest.

The main class for distributed objects is NSProxy and its concrete subclass NSDistantObject. These are in the Foundation framework. Mac OS X and iOS use the same Foundation framework. There does not appear to be any deprecation note on either of these classes.

My TV is advertised as 1080p and only does 1320x768. As long as it's above 720p they can claim 1080p. It seems that your actual question is whether it's the TV or your computer/connection. It's your TV, the resolution you're getting is its maximum resolution. The maximum resolution HDMI can do is generally 1080p (1920x1080).
This is technically not true, since HDMI can do pretty much any resolution DVI can do, but since it's a multimedia interface 1080p is likely the highest resolution a display you can connect via HDMI will give you (for now, at least).

Hey guys,
I've been using my air to connect my xbox to xbox live as i dont have a wireless adapter and the router is unreachable by cable.
I've had a fair few problems achieving this, however i have had it working.
However now my mac isn't recognizing the ethernet cable. It claims the cable is unplugged or the device on the other end isn't responding. However in 'networking' under 'system preferences' it would normally show an amber light if this was the case. (currently shows the red dot)
i currently have the IPv4 set to manual with my ip at 10.0.0.1, subnet at 255.255.255.0 and internet sharing set as on.
I'm confused as to why when it has been working before it has suddenly stopped, and why the mac isn't recognizing it at all. I've also tried restarting.
Can anybody help?
(have the USB Ethernet adapter fyi)

Hmm...
Let's decide on a standard Power Mac name.
"Power Mac XYZ"
"PowerMac XYZ"
"Power Macintosh XYZ"
I think we should go with "Power Mac XYZ", since that's how Apple does it.... but I naturally write PowerMac

thanks for the info... is the external hard drive backup something that you can set within the NAS interface or do you need to use something like carbon copy cloner?

Thanks! I don't think there is a PC version of this though :(
Yes this one is applicable for Mac OS X.
They will soon be releasing the Windows version, will let you and other users know, when they will launch it, k!

All my 800K floppies seem to still work without error. That said, I'm not going around storing important documents on them either. At this point I assume that any of them can fail at any time. The good news is that most old software is available on the internet. If you're worried about particular applications or documents you have on the disks, though - I'd find a way to back them up.
As far as the capacitors, all you can really do is power on the machine and see if things work. If it works, great! I'd only worry about it if the machine stops working, and deal with it then. A failed capacitor won't hurt anything else, and I doubt you're using the Plus for any mission critical work. ;)

Hi
What I am trying to do is, When user clicks Login button there should be a window (Panel) comes out till the user respond to that Panel he/she should not be allowed to access other part of application.
But when ever I add panel to NIB the action target always goes to parent window's ".m" file not Panel's class. Can you please explain me how to direct the control to Panel's class rather parent's.
Thanks
Siva

Or am I just crazy in trying to do this?

Your closest bet is hoping that the wireless USB Hub is compatible with the X-Box 360. Belkin makes one, I believe. Not 100% sure if it works nor do I think it even will. If it somehow magically works out, expect to spend $200 on the hub alone.
Try to impress me though. I quite like my wireless PS2 Guitar Hero controller. I don't understand why they could've just made a wireless controller with a USB dongle and get around Microsoft's proprietary wireless restrictions. Maybe Red Octane is saving that for later?

Save as a png or tiff, both of these formats support transparency. Using one of these will flatten everything into a one layer file. Then bring that into fcp.
Never use a PSD because for one if you have any layer effects they will not show up in FCP. The second is if you do have a PSD comp set up where you do want to animate the individual layers. Its better to use Motion or AfterEffects. This is what there made to do much easier then FCP. Then export a .mov using ProRes 4444 or Animation Codec, because these both support an alpha channel if needed so you can layer over your video in FCP and see what ever underneath it.
Both of these support native PSD file import containing layers. But once again you might need to flatten the effects especially in Motion. AfterEffects I think holds the layer effects because of them both being Adobe apps.
I prefer to save each individual image as a seperate png or tiff and then resemble myself in Motion of AfterEffects. That way you leave the original PSD untouched and can go back and adjust things if needed and resave over the old file.
I just feel you have more control this way. But thats just me.
Definetly Nailed it!

Protools 8 is only compatible with 10.5.8 and above, 8.1 is snow leopard only.
