My wife is the family photographer. From Friday to this morning, we downloaded another 761 pictures. That's a normal weekend. Consequently, her iPhoto library has grown to approx 450 GB. I'm finding that hard to manage and also finding that my ATV2 can't seem to load her pictures for a slide show anymore... I assume her library is just too dang big.
Any suggestions?

for me, I don't trust any of these services. I'd rather maintain my own backups.
I have read some instances where a person needed to restore their system from one of these online services and could not easily get it done. In the long run, a couple of external drives is a safer and cheaper option then going to the cloud.
I use one external drive for offsite backups and one for hot backups.

I currently working on "Web Builder" web application. I'm developing it using Coldfusion MX. I've completed its basic core (Account Creation/Manegement, Choosing a design, Controlling the design colours, Managing the site's sections and pages, and other minor functionality) The basic UI is complete too (although I'm planning to completely change it).
Also in the works is a hardware review site called IonicLabs.com I've finished most of it, written in ASP, the design isn't quite ready though.

NSDictionary is it. objectForKey: tells you if there's an object stored with the specified key.
That's excellent, but how come the documentation makes no mention of this function?
http://developer.apple.com/library/mac/#documentation/Cocoa/Reference/Foundation/Classes/NSMutableDictionary_Class/Reference/Reference.html
Is there any documentation that lists ALL the functions?
Thanks.

ok, that was my guess.......there's no other tools that will do it either?
The only way to unlock your phone is to install Ipad baseband onto your phone. However, there are consequences to have this Ipad baseband on your phone. So, read and do some research before you decide to go with this method.

I had that happen to me -- same symptoms -- but the router was within its warranty period and Apple sent me a new one.
It was really annoying - I feel your pain.
But I think it might be time for you to get a new router.

haven't used the app myself - not letting any winsloth crapola near my beloved Macs ;)
download the manual (http://www.paragon-software.com/home/camptune/manual.html) and find out.
btw, i believe you can now also use iPartition (http://www.coriolis-systems.com/iPartition.php?gclid=CNmfgYCMtagCFUOHDgodPClQBw) to resize the BC partition.

Note that bootcamp plugins are not supported for windows 7 64bit. Only 32bit version. So if you want to use your graphics card, your USB-ports, internet etc I advice to install the 32bit-version.
Not true, if you're using a Mac that is supported for Windows 7 64 bit, as listed in the post above, but many other Macs will work in Win64 just fine.
OP, are you using an original disc? Does it mount when you're running the Mac OS?

Hi, here are a couple of links for your reference:
1. http://www.pocketsdemon.com/search?productid=1_34
2. http://www.pocketsdemon.com/search?productid=1_27_202
Their website states they offer free delivery on every order. And according to the "Package Contents" section under each product page, they will offer a free screen protector to every customer.

Does anyone know if kaplan prep-course expenses can be included into overall educational expenses?
Also, what about application fees?
Asking specific tax questions on an online forum is just asking for problems.
You should have tax forms from your university. Call them and ask or call the IRS and ask. But asking on an internet forum is a bad idea..
Especially since you haven't even specified which tax jurisdiction you are in. Do you deal with the IRS, CCRA, HMRC, ATO, etc
Federal, State, Provincial, Territorial?
So... let me be the first to say.... "Yes, absolutely. Write it all off." In fact did you know that you can even write off any fizzy soft-drinks you consumed while studying, but not if they were also also caffeinated, unless the calorie count was below the remainder of your net income/# of days you studied x 1.345%. Unless you resided in QC for at least 33 days, in which case you can subtract whatever calories you consumed from poutine from the figure in line 345 above.
Please don't take this advice seriously.... I can not be held responsible for actions taken based on this post.... :D

I was going to be there, but the Computer and Technology Store at the UA is selling it for much less at the same time, so I'm going there, since I'm a student! :)
Are you sure about that? The CATS online store wants to sell it to me for $116, but I am logged in as a staff member. Should I bribe a passing student to buy it for me?

If I could find some used RAM cheap maybe from here, I would buy it. :D

I don't have an iPad2 or the camera kit but I do have the ability to use google so here you go: http://www.pcworld.com/article/195013/ipad_camera_connection_kit_connects_other_things_too.html
granted that article talks about the iPad1 so you will need to test the method to confirm it.
here is a tutorial for using handbrake to rip the movies in the first place: http://www.methodshop.com/gadgets/tutorials/handbrake/index.shtml

I don't believe ftp is supported in safari, but last time I tried it I received the login dialog and after it was accepted, there was a new disk drive on my desktop. I think I was able to put files but not get files through the finder.
FTP IS supported in Safari, kinda. What it does is mounts its to your desktop just like a shared folder or network connection. It's pretty spiffy. Might want to make sure if you are passive FTP or not. That may make a diff on your server.

One of the things I noticed that excited me very much about Lion was the fact that there are a lot more voices that come with the OS. Not just English (which now comes in a lot of different accents), but, finally, a lot of European languages including my own small funny language (Dutch). While that's already great, I wonder if that's all. After all, just having those voices is not all that useful. It would only start to be useful if one could finally also speak in ones own language. So far, I haven't read anything about this... Does anyone know if Lion will have better speech recognition? It just irritates me that my iPhone understands me perfectly (I use voice control all the time- in Dutch), but that my Mac only has this clumsy speech interface and worst of all does not let me speak my own language.

Any time is a good time to buy a computer.
Because right after they update the iMac there may be another rumor of another update. Then you will be waiting again.
Just buy the damn computer, i bought my newest powerbook knowing their "could" be an update soon (that was a month ago and still no update) and didn't care, i am happy with my computers even if they do become outdated so to speak

Hi,
I have a Airport Extreme Base station connected to an ADSL modem. This is set up and seems to be working fine. I also have an Airport Express to go in between the base station and my computer to extend the range as my computer reads about 30%. However, despite appearing to be working (green light is on on both devices) there is no change in signal strength.
I set up the base station to create a wireless network, and set the express to join existing network, then extend the range, all with Airport Utility. I have moved the express to different plug sockets at varying distances between the computer and the base station but to no effect. My computer can just about connect to the internet but my PS3 which has a lower reception (about 20%) can't get online. I moved the PS3 next to the base station router to check it wasn't a PS3 issue and it worked fine but this is not a long term solution for me.
So the only problem is why laptop/PS3 seem to still be connecting to the base station which is further away, rather than the express? I saw something about WDS mode, which while I know what it stands for, I don't understand how this is different to what I have set up already.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Have anyone been using Daylite for your cntact management at work? I am in the sales/marketing and I develop new sales opportunities for my company. Daylite's website shows this program is a full featured program for sales professional. But, before I purchase this, I would like to hear comments (positive and negatives) from the forum members who have been using this program on the regular basis.

I you have 4 cores, use all for of them, if you have only one proc (with 2 cores) then use only two. Don't use the graphical client, it slows down a little bit... Also I don't think it can handle multiple cores.

Well it can be as slow as 400MHz and as fast as 700MHz. If you could find out how much RAM its already got installed and how fast it is, we could probably make some better suggestions for you. For example, a 700MHz model with 768-1GB of RAM and AirPort card could serve as a nice kitchen/livingroom web browser Mac. If its only 400MHz with 64MB of RAM in it, then it would probably better serve as an OS 9 word processor.

If you want everything gone you have to restore and setup as new.
If you restore from your JB backup on file some stuff might carry over.

I just did some limited file movement to confirm it would still recognize the drive without formatting it for the enclosure. I think it is safe to say that it would run slow as molasses over USB versus internal.
I'm curious to see how a TB external with non-ssd drives connected to a MBP run versus internal drives on a MP...got my fingers crossed and hope the drives are the limiting factor.
