This always confuses me. Why do they call it a newsreader? Why not an RSS reader? This does nothing more than keep track of and read RSS feeds. It's not significantly different/better than the RSS capability built into Safari or Firefox.
Maybe I'm a purist (or a snob), but to me a "newsreader" is an application used to read the newsgroups (the Usenet). Panic's Unison application is a newsreader. It connects to newsgroup servers and allows me to read posts and download attachments.
Am I being too picky?

Hey!
Anyone planning on going to the Apple store in Reston VA this thursday? I pre-ordered my phone and plan on swinging by before work at around ~6:30.
I know some Macrumors users live in the area because when I went to go play with an iPad, I punched in www.macrumors.com and it popped up in the history lol.
Hahah that was me :-). I played on their iPad and went to this site debating if I should get one or not.
I already preordered my iPhone 4, but I curious how crazy it's gonna be there.

Same problem with the cover on the 17" PBook, but a Swiss Army knife blade works very nicely wgen you haven't got the right driver.

I can't comment on the HD650 with a macbook pro personally, as I do not exactly have one. Of the few times I've tried it out, it was at a friend's and at local music stores. I'm an audio technica kind of guy, so I tend to stick to their products. I know the lower impedance audio techncia cans sound pretty good on my brother's macbook pro and my iMac via their intel hd integrated card and headphone jack.Well, thanks for the posts. I am a bit surprised how quiet this subform seems to be, I was hoping for a wider range of opinions. Or, do I just need a shower?

Being able to create an account to use the client? Otherwise you need to pay for a premium subscription.

Ok, we are getting somewhere. When I press play after hitting capture now, the video starts playing. When I hit ESC to stop it, it does stop, but nothing happens. no dialog boxes asking me what to name it, and nothing appears in the browser.
The iMovie thing does work, but I'd rather do it "the right way." :)
Edit: I have got it working (thanks for all your help) but I still am doing it manually in the sense that it does not stop when there is a cut in the tape. I'd like to get each clip every time I started to record, and it is too hard to do manually. Should I just get out of this iMovie mindset or is it possible to do this?
Either you pressed the capture now button before the video device was ready, or the device isn't playing. In Either case you can press the capture now, then press play on your camera.

That other useless feature - the shutdown - made the dialog pop up again. Now I can finally turn that vault off :-)

I got
Connection Error: Could not connect to MySQL instance at localhost. Error: Unknown system variable 'sql_mode' (code 1193) I have the exact same error. I attribute it to something I don't know that I'm doing wrong. Perhaps someone can shed some light?

hehe yeah, personally I will never understand the appeal of coldplay. I think the best review I ever read about one of there shows was "Coldplay is a sugar overdose for the masses" :p

Hmm not sure about the booting problem since it gets that far. There's another virtualization program called VirtualBox that's open-source and maintained by Sun/Oracle. Here (http://www.virtualbox.org/)is the link. It's free. Works the same way as the others, except it's not as integrated.

Someone was asking about scanner reviews - not too much that's current out there. Many reviews date from the late 90's!! I guess the push to digital cameras killed most of the market.

I should note that the 4000ED is my third generation dedicated 35mm scanner. I bought a first generation Nikon personal scanner back in 1993. Hard to get a good scan, as it's dynamic range was pretty bad. My second generation was a Polaroid Sprintscan from 1998. Much better, but single feed and still spotty with complicated slides. I bought the Nikon 4000 in 2003 and have been VERY happy with its performance.

It has been a while since I have played with PHP and SQL. Does using a query string like that open you up to any vulnerabilities? Offhand I'm thinking no because it is run on the server side and the user doesn't have any control over the input in this case.
The code itself is pretty straight forward. Two things to note:
You are pulling everything from the photo_atelier table and then building an array with five elements. If the table contains 100 photos that's a lot of extra data that you are just dropping on the ground.
Also you are pulling every column from that table and only using the name of the photo. You can change the select statement to:
'SELECT photo FROM photo_atelier' to just pull the information you are using.
On a personal note, I find the rotation to be too fast. You also might want to consider adding a pause to the rotation when the mouse is hovering over the image.
Overall I like the design of the site. You have a few CSS issues to work out but it is looking good.

I'm very detailed when it comes to taking care of my iTunes library. I have almost 6,000 songs and I average about 80 new songs a month (mostly cd compilations). I rarely every buy actual physical cds unless it's for an album I really love, so it gets the shelf treatment.
I use all the fields rather normally. I prefer to only have a few basic Genres which I then break down under the "Grouping" tag. I use various tags for various reasons. I use the grouping for the sub-genre, and naming the record label. The lyrics tab is used as a way to put track-lists in songs that are one continuous track. The comments section is used for tracks that are complete (aka they have all the track information and album art embedded into the file itself). And once every year I have a program that runs through and finds the BPM of each track.
Now don't even get me started on playlists and playlist folders.

I too second onyx (http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/11582/onyx). It's a great app for clearing out caches, logs, checking disks and tweaking some of OS X features.

I assume you have system 7 on there?
Try holding down the SHIFT key at startup, that will turn of the extensions. i.e. screen saver loading and should get you in there to disable it

i used to do a lot of traveling and my PSP kept me
if you're into old school, i got a lot of play out of the Pirates! remake for the PSP and it's at bargain bin prices now. there's an EA collection for the PSP with Wing Commander and a lot of other good games, but avoid it... they're all SNES versions and virtually unplayable. biggest waste of $29 i ever spent on a PSP game. no where on the box could i find that they were the half-assed SNES versions of good PC games.
but anyways...
if you like Zelda-esque RPG's, the PSP version of Y's kept me entertained on some long plane trips. that's probably also in the bargain bin by now.
my friend says Puzzle Quest is very good if you can find it, but i'm not into those types of games personally. lumines is crap if you ask me, but hey... to each their own.
