I have to confess, I enjoy Sam Adams.

With the exception of the cherry wheat (Yuck!), their entire line up is top notch. Boston and winter lager have to be my favorites, the imperial white is also quite good.

Of course, I also have to say I like Magic Hat and Blue Moon quite a bit too.

Budweiser though? Blech. That falls right in line with Natural Ice and others in the cheap beer category; most of which I can't stand. When it comes to piss-water I suppose I'm mostly partial to Coors and PBR (for the really cheap occasions), but that's mostly due to monetary issues while in college, not preference.

Less Bud anywhere in the world means its a better world...

Isn't Best Buy participating in the pre-ordering program on June 15th? Apple Stores are, as is AT&T. At both places, the phones will be ready for pickup on the 24th ---AT&T promises front-of-the-line, no waiting for pre-ordering customers. Of course, you have to pay for it when you order it, but. . .

Best Buy hasn't officially said anything about how the pre-order process will work or when it will start, but im sure they will announce something before the 15th.

Why would Apple want a bunch of warehouses full of DVDs?

true but TCO for any subscription iOS device is likely to be many hundreds of $$$ more than an android that gives a similar experience.

TCO is where the smart people look, I'm not surprised you missed it..;)

So, in short, you are out of arguments and just making stuff! Spoken like a true iFan!

I certainly hope that Virtual Desktops make their way into this version of OS X. This is one of the biggest features I'm surprised that never made it in, considering that pretty much every other distribution of UNIX/Linux I've ever seen has a virtual desktop manager.

I don't know where the 'new monitor' rumor is coming from since I'm not seeing anything mentioned in the original post, but I wouldn't be surprised to see new monitors with a built in iSight, so pretty much all Macs can have a camera along with them. Will it also have a built-in microphone?

I don't know what the griping is about. I use Outlook heavily for calendar and email via exchange. Works flawlessly for me, and is far more lightweight and user friendly than friggin Entourage. Forget that junk.

Apple need to raise the iOS bar and get tasks on the phone to catch up with exchange. Hurry up guys.

    And your point is?

Back in 2009 The Register (http://www.theregister.co.uk/2009/04/11/microsoft_flames_macs/page2.html)specced up an SP 5500 and a Mac Pro

    Mac Pro $2,499
    Dell T5500 $3,630

So for over $1100 less you could get a Mac Pro instead of a Dell. A bit like getting a Mercedes that costs less than a Hyundai. :D

As it still has a second socket, it must use Xeon 5000-series CPUs. The CPU in the 3797$ SP configuration costs 1663$ alone, whereas the CPU in 2499$ Mac Pro costs 294$.

That same applies to your link which makes it useless.

Dell T5500 and SP Mac Pro ARE NOT COMPARABLE!

Why is it so damn hard to get it that Mac Pro is overpriced compared to e.g. Dell's offerings?!

What does it cost these magazines to digitize an issue each month? Is there a team of 2 people or 20 putting the digital version? All the articles have been written and researched, the photographs and artwork already exist in digital form as well as the layout. What they save on digital issues; no paper, ink or printing costs, no delivery cost or at least a lot less. One thing they loose however is shelf space, how many times have you stopped in a store and thumbed through a magazine because the cover grabbed your eye.

That only applies to maxim and black bar mags...:(:o

Great news! I was worried M$ recruited him for Zune commercials.

How awful would that be? I'm POSITIVE Apple had it in his contract he couldn't do that when they took him on. But that would suck if they hadn't.:o

I loved the first Portal and The Orange Box, but $50 for Portal 2 seems kind of steep to me.

How is $50 for a new video game "kind of steep"? The price of video games has not changed too much in the past several decades. I paid $45 for Quest for Glory 2, which came out in 1990, which is not too far off from $50 (inflation not included, either). With the exception of new A-list games on PS3 and Xbox 360 (generally starting closer to $60), the price of many games has gone down, especially for PCs.

It might be interesting to see if games for phones become a profitable revenue stream for game developers since they can skip several of the middle men via downloading games, instead of through traditional retail.

One thing which has surprised me is how many Portal 2 advertisements I've seen on buses or billboards. I've rarely seen video games advertised to such an extent, so that was certainly different.

I used to want an all in one phone, but not anymore - I want to keep the phone and iPod totally seperate from each other. My current phone (Sony P910) can play music but I've never used it for that and never will.

Sometimes I just want to listen to music without being disturbed. If I'm using my phone for music that will never happen. I know I could turn the phone part off (flight mode) but it will keep bugging that I could be missing a call, so I'd end up turning the phone back on again.

I do want a decent phone with all the bits and pieces, especially wifi and a decent camera, but the choice is very limited at the moment. If it plays music that will be fine provided I don't have to pay extra for it or for the extra storage. I'm sure an Apple phone would do everything I want, so please....bring it on.

I think a lot of people feel the same way, so I'm not convinced an iPod phone would sell that well. Most people have a mobile phone and the majority can play music (albeit with reduced storage), yet iPods continue to sell well. Why?

[QUOTE=zephonic;12494107]No. Hellhammer is right. The T3500 is comparable to the base-spec single-CPU MacPro. Same CPU, same RAM, just a different graphics card.

"Same CPU, same RAM" ignores all of the other things that make a computer valuable. Don't forget the case, the ease of component changes, the power supply, the reliability, and the amount of overbuilding (or underbuilding). Oh, and there's also that "OS" thing.

Just matching CPU speeds is like comparing Fords and Porsches based on horsepower ratings. If a person who wants a fast car can't see the value in a Porsche then by all means get a Ford.

A lot of you are a bunch of cheap asses.

Because we don't want to pay for the kind of crap that appeals to your ADHD-addled brain? Because we're grown-ups who can read magazines without the kind of videos and interactive features that you need to keep you from just dropping the magazine and running outside to ride your bicycle?

Most of you don't understand the amount of work that goes into producing these apps. They're not just PDFs that you download and flip through.

Don't you tell me what I do and don't understand, you little turd. I was writing software years before the accident that lead to your conception. Why should I want to pay them to produce apps when all I want to do is read a damned magazine? I don't want a separate app for every magazine that I read any more than I want a separate app for each CD that I want to listen to.

To me, that seems to be pandering, does it not?

    I don't know.

Would it be a pandering to not bring ham sandwiches to a Jewish school?

It sounds more like just being sensitive to me.

I'd hate to think of that as being pandering.

Pander (http://www.thefreedictionary.com/pandering) - To cater to the lower tastes and desires of others or exploit their weaknesses
