Apple has been the extreme minority in selling personal computers since 1986. Their pc marketshare has been below 10% for how long? 20+ years...and still is even though they are selling like hotcakes.
I like the Macs...I also like the Wintels. And I also, as a consumer, am not going to plunk down $1200+ for a Mac when a $600-$700 PC will allow me to do 100% of the same stuff just using different name-brand-products. :) And other consumers who are out there looking to buy a new computer to surf the web, play music, surf Youtube, upload pix, go to Facebook, use online chat, read email, (and a billion other online activities) are going to ask themselves "why am I spending $1200 for a Mac using Firefox when I can buy a $600 PC using the same Firefox?"
I don't want to go too off topic but suffice to say these days, so much pc time is spent online that you could be using any computer manufacturer/OS in the world that supports Firefox or Safari or IE and you'd have the same experience. Why spend double?
No one wants to pluck down $6-$700 as you claim every other year as their Windows PC's fall a part. I'd rather just throw down for a Mac that will withstand the test of time.

My recommendation: restore it on 3.1.3 and sell it or give it to someone :)

AppleInsider Article: "The filing is credited to four Apple employees: Nick King, Duncan Kerr, Paul Herbst and Steven Hotelling."
Is this the type of thing Apple does? Thought they had more control over employee/press relations...
The whole article sounds a bit overloaded with info - is it April Fools?http://forums.macrumors.com/images/smilies/redface.gif

I'll tell you what I've told everybody, this is not an AT&T problem. I have the Atrix and I have NEVER dropped a call in Saint Louis. My wife's Samsung Focus never has dropped a call in six months either. My friend has the iPhone 4 and another has the 3GS in Saint Louis and they CONSTANTLY cannot connect Call Failed or drop calls.
It's the iPhone man.
/rant
And I'll tell you what I've told everybody else. I had verizon for years. No dropped calls and signal in locations other carriers had none. I got the iphone in November on ATT. Weaker signal. Not only my phone, but in my office, my home and family's homes, non-iphones on ATT have worse signal.
If you are in the heart of a city and not in a particular building, then ATT is just fine. But go to certain areas in rural america and Verizon is much better.
So for my experience ATT is the problem.

I saw 1 go for 12k! Crazy!
It's standard setup game. Friends bidding to create hype, "sell" one for 12k so they can sell other 5 for at least some premium.
I don't understand people who have to have it the same day and actually pay the premium for this thing on ebay
Just wait week or two.
Read the news, MS created this low supply situation to create the hype.

No offense, but you should be doing your own research. The idea of writing a research paper is to, you know, research. Asking people on a forum for sources is taking the lazy way out.

Isn't this illegal? I mean they probably need to hack into Apple's database to add the IMEIs in question, which is pretty illegal.
yeah, just what I was thinking. The whole 'accessing Apple's database' seems pretty illegal to me. I don't see how they can get away with that no matter how you look at it.

I was working the early shift at Sydney International Airport that day. On the shuttle bus to the airport the radio announcer said a plane had flown into a building in New York, we all laughed because we thought he must have gotten his information wrong.
When we arrived at the airport there on the screens was the event unfolding, much to our horror. I recall as the morning progressed the news was being broadcast on all the TV's around the terminal. Everyone was sitting around looking pasty faced and flights were systematically being cancelled. No-one (workers or passengers) were speaking, it was surreal. However all the oriental passengers were buzzing around, shopping, eating and joking. For them it was an opportunity to shop unimpeded. It was like they didn't see the screens around them. Occasionally they'd look up and then would go on with what they were doing.

Most likely it's the LocalConnection (http://www.macromedia.com/cfusion/knowledgebase/index.cfm?id=tn_16243) stuff. (I notice that the keyboard seems to act a little goofy in their example, try pasting text)

Hey, someone from my Apple User Group is trying to sell their 1.33Ghz 17" pb. If you're interested, I'll PM them on our forum and ask what they want for it. It has 1GB RAM/Superdrive.

The problem is that Microsoft doesn't know how to play from behind the competition, especially with a device that only serves one purpose and can't really be improved enough to catch people's attention. It was a silly decision to jump in the market so late in the game.
Bingo. Microsoft saw another industry that was making money so they decided to jump in to try and cash in the new cow.
Considering that both Sony and Microsoft have a diverse range of products (game consoles, phones, computers, software), it's surprising that neither of them have been able to make larger strides with their respective offerings.
I've only known two people who owned a Zune. One was a Windows sysadmin (now interested in iOS development), and the other was a person who likely was trying to avoid the mainstream by NOT getting an iPod.

Since Leopard won't be out until spring you will have to pay the full price. Apple is pretty stingy about giving discounts to their OS upgrades. If you had purchased you MBP a week before Leopards release you might have receive it for free.
Yeh, I think last time it was something like 28 days...
Either way, it hasn't got anything to do with stingy; let us say for the sake of argument that I purchased a Dell computer today, and vista is released on 1st February. Surely you're not expecting Dell to ship you Vista free? No Way - it's not good business sense.
Apple Hardware and Software probably have different division headings so you can't argue that the above analysis is not viable.

Or follow a nice, easy iPhone dev related Twitter list, which includes all the main players, like this one:
http://twitter.com/Aubin/iphone-jailbreak-teams
As has been said, if it was released too soon, with bugs, the very people asking when it's coming out would be the same people complaining that their device got bricked by a buggy jailbreak that was released too early!
