that guy who blends stuff should be sent to an underdeveloped country and be thrown in the middle of the street with no food and in danger of getting raped by 4 bear bikers...that guy and the whole production behind that stupidity should get a hard lesson on hard work ethics to realize they are wasting money on machines that could've been useful for someone not so fortunate..shame on these people.

Apple has posted an MPEG-4 video-on-demand stream (http://events.apple.com.edgesuite.net/sep_2006/event/index.html) of today's special announcement. It is unclear whether it will be broadcasting live or whether it will be a replay of the event as Apple has done in the past and as AppleInsider has claimed (http://www.appleinsider.com/article.php?id=2033). Either way, MacRumors will be providing coverage of the event as it unfolds using our state-of-the-art MacRumorsLive service.
Also, as many of you have already noticed, the Apple Store (http://store.apple.com/) has gone down for updates.

It seems like the guy who made it is trying to make a name for himself. No truth to the film... I think?

That's why they're selling 2 for each person. So you can blend your iPad and still have the other one to use... ;)

Even if your assertion is true, did you notice that the keyword in your post is "encouraged" and not "outlawed".
If France merely "encouraged" Muslim women to forgo the veil and burqa, I think there's very little I would say against such encouragement.
I don't need to source something that is common knowledge. And did you notice the quotes? Means they did a bit more then just kind of asked.... Do u really think a woman walking around most Muslim countries in shorts and a cut off tee shirt are safe?

Yet what those hackintosh prove is that Apple is charging a "Mac Pro tax" of around 1000$, +/- a few hundreds depending on configuration. Even if that tax was only 500$ +/- a few hundreds, the question remains: why?
It just proves you can put Mac OS X on cheaper hardware. Which is why so many people do it. People have put Mac OSX on netbooks, but obviously a netbook would never be considered a workstation class computer.

iLounge: you can now sync between multiple computers using an iPod, as long as both are authorized on the same account
Oh hell yes. Now this makes me happy.
This is good news indeed. I'm stoked about what's being presented so far today.

It was my comment. I was not commenting about the speculation in this thread, but rather commenting on the posters who essentially claimed that apple was the most unethical company based on some of the speculation in this thread. Speculation is okay. It's fun, and that's what macrumors Is for. I just found it hilarious that some took such an indignant moral stance on apple based on that speculation. That is what I found stupid, not the speculation.
This is what I was referring to. As is said, there's nothing wrong with speculation (that's my fav part of macrumors)... it was just getting a bit humorous to see some comments that lead to actual beliefs. As always with Apple... I love em', but I'll believe it when I see it too.

Stop being a fool. In many cases you can get an iPhone for free or even $49.
Oh yes indeed, but you must be referring to deals as this:
http://www.wireless.att.com/cell-phone-service/packages/iphone-packages.jsp
Show me a current iPhone 4 at free or $49 please...

Does it not depend the PPI that the image is ? If they have made the image at a PPI that the the same as the iPad 1/1.5, then you may have a point. However, if they made the image at a higher PPI, say 300+, then your point is moot.
I would say it's unlikely that they make images at such higher PPI, at least not in the final app. It increases the cost, the file size, the app complexity with no obvious gain. I'm highly skeptical.

that's bigger than my top-of-the-range Powerbook brand-new 1.5 years ago...
Yeah, same here, but I guess you need space to store all those movies from the Movie Store...

What makes you think Liquid metal is black anyhow ? It's no blacker than aluminium which can be anodized black or Carbon fiber which can be painted a light shade of grey.
Seriously folks, that black macbook concept art could be made out of anything, as much as their "dark" look can represent any material on their site. It has nothing to do with supposed Liquid Metal or Carbon Fiber or Aluminum.
I'm just stating the obvious not by the concept photo but by the actual color composition of liquid metal:

http://images.macrumors.com/article/2010/08/17/120644-Liquidmetal_SIM_Pin_500.jpg
I'm sure Aluminum and Liquid Metal (or any metal at that) can be painted/baked into any color... but with recent postings all showing liquid metal being a "dark" color, I simply was going with that as the example. :)
Probably one of my favorite videos:

It was the number 1 selling phone in the world in 2010. In the US in the last quarter the iPhone was the #1 and #2 selling phone. I am not saying smartphone and I am not making a mistake. If you see a person who purchased a mobile phone in the last year, the chances are it is an iPhone.
You see more iPhones then you see of anything else because there are more iPhones then anything else.
According to the IDC results, Apple have a 2.8% market share, that means 1 in 36.
There aren't more iPhones than anything else.
You're making a lot mistakes.

true but TCO for any subscription iOS device is likely to be many hundreds of $$$ more than an android that gives a similar experience.
TCO is where the smart people look, I'm not surprised you missed it..;)
While I agree that TCO is where the smart people look, I'd really like you to explain how TCO of an iPhone is higher than a similarly-priced Android. In my own case, I have two iPhone 4s with separate data plans and the total monthly combined bill is still under $100.
If you don't have numbers to back up your argument, the argument tends to be invalid.

$140 3TB Drives x 10 = $1400.
Even though it's only 10x disks (which would only allow for either a JBOD or RAID 0), consumer grade disks aren't the way to go for this much capacity used for primary storage. As the backup pool, consumer grade disks are fine due to the lower duty cycle (say 8 hrs per day on average).
It's cheap, but it's not going to be reliable enough for a primary pool. Enterprise grade 3TB disks aren't cheap ($350 per, which is more than double the 5400rpm consumer versions, not quite that much for the 7200rpm consumer units; all 3TB units).
Some might consider this splitting hairs, but I see it as a critical difference for the uptime requirement.

What a ridiculous title.
Congratulations, you just been played as free promotion. Steve Jobs has been doing this his entire career. BTW, iWoz was the first in the "i" biography titled stories.
However, my favorite is "The Macintosh Way" buy Guy Kawasaki. I have turned down jobs from people who trashed that book.

ˆhuh?
Anyhoo... all went very smooth today, despite the earlier issues. Got to the store just before opening (10AM) and was out the door in 20 minutes.
For those keeping count, the employee helping me did tell another customer that their store only received 20 phones. This was in Long Beach, CA.
Sorry to hear that some of us have to wait 'til the next shipment. The stories here can lead one to believe something diabolical, or irresponsible at least, could have been going on in some places. :(
BTW... half of the dozen or so people waiting outside with me, prior to opening, were there to see if there were any iPhones available for those who hadn't preordered. They were quickly turned away once inside.
