it doesnt matter where you bought it... apple supports all of their products worldwide.
obviously this means, "take it to the apple store."

Yep, 10am in California as well but things always change in the last minute. I planned my waiting time with these 3 additional hours so I have no problem with it.

I find MacRumors as a great place for help, and I ask on here before any other forums.

Hi
A friend of mine has offered to sell me his macbook pro and i am considering it. However I know very little and have only had dell laptops in the past.
It is a 13'' duo core 2.4gh ddr3 ram with 320gb . He will also give me mac office. He is asking for 800.
Im wondering if this is worth the money as it is the duo core and my Dell has the i7 technology. To be honest I dont even know what this means. I just want a decent laptop that will not be slow and outdated in a year!
I would be using it for work-im a teacher.
Any advice would be great thanks!!
You could get a brand new 2011 MBP for not much more then that. I would get that.

What a bag of crap! These musicians whining about how they can no longer demand to be paid large amounts of money for a 3 minute song or a album of 3 good, 3 okay, and 4-6 poor 3 minute songs. In today's market, it takes these guys 2 days of studio time to create an album. Since its digital there is no cost to copy the product so really everything above about $0.05 is pure gravy for the artist, record company, and seller.
Yeah, maybe I'd be bummed about working for a couple of weeks and no longer getting paid $millions like I used to in the 80's, but the record industry was and still is simply a rip-off.
In an age when I can pay $2.00 for an app that can entertain for hours, $1.35 is a lot to ask for a 3 minute song. Especially when the cost of coping that song is close to zero.
Of course, Mellonhead, most of your fanbase (both of them) are not computer literate so you're not missing out on any money from copies. Your albums simply don't sell very well. And don't blame the fact nobody's buying your crappy music on the internet...
The new reality of entertainment is the YouTube generation. Thousands of people are working hard full time to create content they give for free simply for a cut of the ad revenues.

I'm putting together a second RAID 1 setup as I've filled my first 1TB mirrored RAID (LaCie) with photos and videos. I'm a freelance photographer and these drives hold my livelihood so RAID 0 is out of the question.
I've picked my RAID enclosure (NewerTech Guardian Maximus) but found it's cheaper to buy my own bare drives and put it together myself.
I found a great deal on 2TB WD Green Drives with 64mb cache and 3Gbps SATA but then realized they are 5400/5900 RPM drives. This is mostly for storage of my RAW files that I read/edit using Lightroom in addition to storage of video files that are edited etc via FCP.
I'm on a 2010 15" MBP which means eSATA is out and I'll be using FW800. While out of the question from the start, I realize that buying 10,000 RPM, 64mb cache, 6Gbps SATA drives is silly because they'll be limited by the throughout of FW800.
So, keeping in mind that FW800 is the limiting factor, do I need 7200 RPM drives? 64mb cache? 3 or 6Gbps SATA?
Thanks in advance!

I'm noticing jittery/jerky animations on my jb iphone 4 on 4.3.2 via pwnage. Anyone else experiencing this? The whole phone seems a lot less smooth this time around and I'm not sure why. Haven't installed any new jb apps that could be causing this. I did have a heck of a lot more trouble jailbreaking this time around (seems like I'm not the only one) but I can't imagine that's my problem.

If you're using it on Tmobile USA or any of its prepaid companies you have to turn off 3G in settings so your signal doesnt drop and flunctuate.

My wife has a Sony Vaio that has Windows 7.
She set up her iPod a few years ago on a ThinkPad.
She wants to add new music to her iPod via iTunes on her new PC, but the message I receive is that since the music belongs to another iTunes Library, the only way is to erase the music on the current iPod and replace it with any new music she puts on iTunes on her Vaio w Win 7.
Is there a way to keep her old music while adding new music to the new iTunes on her Vaio.
Thanks.
Frank
Well, when _I_ buy a new computer, I copy all the important stuff from the old computer to the new one. Including iTunes library. There is probably a way to set up a network connection between both computers, otherwise use the "Backup" menu in iTunes to burn your iTunes library to CD or DVD.

Hi folks, I was looking at buying a mac mini server edition, but I was wondering with the upcoming release of 10.7 in summer will a new 10.7 server edition of OSX be released simultaneously? Or does it follow a few months later? Upgrading the server license is expensive so I'd rather have the up to date software if it's coming out within a year, and I don't need the server badly or anything, it's mostly just to mess around with (first server for me).
On another note, how do people like the mac mini server? Is it reliable enough even with the same components?

i think you said very well, place a piece of cardboard over the hole mounting pattern and punch holes from the opposite side of the rim through the center of the mounting holes. Then match it up to your rim.

That was just one build of 10.4.9, there can be a number of builds seeded to developers before the final version is released. It's probably coming soon but there's no guarantee, it'll come out when it's ready.

A Mac Mini in a car better have some serious self-powered heating and cooling system! Not to mention its very own waterbed for shock protection!
Or maybe it could stand the extremes if the HD were replaced by a RAID of flash chips?
Anyway, I bet the project will draw an upsurge of interest from the Windows switcher DIY crowd too! Might even draw some new people into programming Mac software :)
EDIT: Yes, OS X voice commands can trigger AppleScripts, and iTunes is controllable that way. (Better yet, maybe, with Automator in Tiger.) Unless the music interferes :)
I see no iTunes voice control scripts ready-to-go in Panther. But wow, Address Book is sure loaded with voice control!
