This is not news; this is a question. As questions go, it is not a particularly good one. Comcast is in the business of selling content over its wires and the wires of its competing cable providers. Currently, the company produces some of its own content. With the takeover of NBC Universal, it will produce much more. One can only surmise that Comcast is taking over NBC Universal to enhance its cable operations. From where I sit, the iTunes Store is more of a competitor for Comcast than it is for NBC Universal. As much as I would like to Comcast to dump Hulu and go with the iTunes Store, I believe that we will see a lot more kicking and screaming before it happens.

The only thing bogus about this article is that it ignores all the Americans who are using the iPad for inventive ways and methods. It's basically comparing a few US-based forums and blogs, to people (in other countries) doing stuff on the street and in their own webpages.
I was first in line for the thing because one of the main things is that it could easily replace my music sheets I would otherwise have to clutter on a music stand. So a nice page-sized device in which I could flip pages, without error, or dropping sheets (what might at worst get me lost), is a boon. It also serves as an Ebook reader, for which I never bought one, before. Of course, some apps have given me new ideas, since.

...I'm wondering if there are any better apps to monitor FaH, which also include the ability to pause FaH, for the mac (leopard specifically)???
Thanks :)
welcome, and thanks for folding. i think you already found the two i would've recommended.
i assume when you say 'pause' you mean a 1 click or right-click 'pause'... nothing that i am aware of, but that's not saying much. EDIT: the current increase release FAQ page says 'You can start, stop, pause, and continue easily from InCrease or its Dock menu.' but since i'm not using it anymore, i can't confirm or deny that...
first, i guess, what kind of computer, and which client are you using? assume mac, and guessing the command line interface, so increase is about the only way to start/stop without getting geeky in terminal.
more info, and we can try and get you better answers. best of luck.
Thanks :)

How would you suggest making it more appealing?

Do a google search for InsomiaT. It's a fork of InsomniaX that has a system pref pane and works on Snow Leopard. I use it on Lion, works fine. It's in system prefs, so less menu bar clutter! :D
Awesome! I have been needing something but settling for leaving it cracked open.
right after installing it didn't work so I ran sudo kextload /system/library/extensions/insomniat.kext and it works great. A restart probably would have worked but who has an extra 20 seconds to spare? :)

Hello,
I have been using Time Machine for backups of my iMac for a few years now without problems.
Recently, I bought a new and bigger external hard drive for my backups. It's a Samsung G2 Portable 500GB.
Browsing the Samsung with Finder, it shows that all backups are made correctly.
However, in Time Machine, none of these backups are visible.
Also, in System Preferences, under Time Machine, the disk that is shown is my iMac drive, not the Samsung. Going to Select Disk to choose the Samsung drive, does not help. Although, the Samsung is shown, the iMac drive remains to be shown as the Time Machine drive, even after selecting the Samsung.
Does anybody know this problem?
Thanks in advance for any suggestion!
Arnoud

You can't swap PSUs between these two G5.
Dual Cores have different PSU than Dual Processor ones (connectors, pinouts etc).

You have to pay a VIP fee of $6,875 every year...
I'm kidding!...:D I'm using FakeCarrier and change it to Sprint.
Don't know if Sprint is going to have the iPhone... I don't think they will. I suggest you change to AT&T or Verizon..

What is your definition of "cheap"? How much would you consider spending?
Craigslist (usually scammers) or eBay (scammers or people from other countries (Russian, Ukraine, etc which leads to high shipping prices/customs issues/delays). It's hard to know who or what is a legit offer/seller, so do so carefully. If it seems to good to be true, it probably is...

For anyone else on here I just found my answer here it is below.
the Wi-Fi radio will power down after 90 seconds, and the hotspot will no longer broadcast its availability to Wi-Fi devices. Just unlock the phone, and navigate to the hotspot settings screen to wake it from its slumber. In testing, I occasionally also had to toggle the hotspot switch to Off and back to On to reactivate it.

So I think the next step for you is to sync the iPods and make sure the apps are transferred by clicking on the device and then going to the "apps" tab.
You'll have to keep both iPods on the same account, but I don't think that should be a problem if they're being synced to the same iMac.

By the way, I also tried the griffin ear jams as a cheap alternative, before I bought the Sonys, and IMO they were uncomfortable, bulky, sharp on your ears, and made everything sound rather muffled. It's a nice idea, poorly executed. I wouldn't recommend them, unfortunately. :(
However, the good thing is that if you get some, the silicone plugs are compatable with the Sonys, so you get to have some spares!

IF you ever think about parting the system and games out, I might be interested in the snow boarding game depending on the price.
PM me if you ever consider it.
Thanks!
Rob
Alright, well I'll wait a while on the package and if nothing happpens or if everyone wants an individual thing, I'll consider it.

Your battery life is dependent on many factors, including screen brightness, WiFi, bluetooth, apps/processes/widgets running, etc. PRAM has nothing to do with battery/power/charging issues, so that won't help. Make sure you've properly calibrated, as many are misinformed about the proper procedure. This should answer most, if not all, of your battery questions:
Apple Notebook Battery FAQ (http://forums.macrumors.com/showpost.php?p=9875442&postcount=23)
Pay special attention to the section: BATTERY LIFE FROM A CHARGE
Thanks for the info GGJstudios. To be on safe side, I did a fresh install with no applications or other junk installed. Screen brightness set to 50%, wireless connected to Airport and simple browsing. Starts at 3.30 hours and gives a total of around 2 hours. I am going to re-calibrate the battery one more time to see if it reports accurate charge.
Again, looking forward to see what times other ppl get out of this model.

the sim card is the normal sim card i dont know abut my sons itunes account info i will have him check. does anyone know if you are supposed to install a brand new unused sim card.or if your used card will work.this is pre a paid card.
If it is locked to a specific carrier, it will only work with that. You need a micro-sim card to put inside the iPhone, as far this goes, I don't know how the first Gen iPhone works with it.
