After missing the iPhone launch, I'll definitely be there. Anyone else showing up at the Apple Store in La Cantera?

Whoo the iMacs are impressive. What speed are you averaging on the computer? I just added my brothers computer to the Macrumors folding.
I just started it today, so I have no idea. I'll see later next week how things go since I'll be putting my dual 1.25 back on the job after it finishes rendering this weekend.

I know right? I know they're only foam, but still, they still look quite metallic.

is this a troll post? just curious?
Just a post noting how stupid the arguements are... Hell Apple and google no longer need to list the pros and cons its cheaper to have people call each other names over it. I am retiring as a Smartphone fanboy FANBOY. I am going to start repping Fuji apples. Their 2$ a pound that is why they are better then oranges.

I already have a mid-2009 13" and 15" MBP and an iPhone 4 GSM and was considering handing off my 13" MBP to my sister and moving to an iPad and more mobile devices.
I have no idea why but Verizon iPads don't seem to be moving much in my area of Georgia (no idea why). I have the option of going out and getting a black 16gb, 32gb, or 64gb at my local PeachMac the last I checked availability a few hours ago. I checked yesterday too. They're either getting a ton of Verizon models or they aren't moving them.
Anyways... I kind of considered the Verizon iPad as an opportunity for the best of both worlds. iPhone 4 with AT&T bands while having the option to use Verizon 3G whenever I need it. Anyone else done this?

Are you dragging the app icon to your Applications folder before you double-click them? Or are they install packages that you need to launch, in order to install the app? Can you give an example of an app you're trying to install?

Hey there, ever since i updated to 10.6.6 and the very latest Nvidia CUDA driver update it seems that BOINC is no longer utilizing GPU.
Before those updates i had BOINC using the GPU a lot more and the settings where same as now.
Is the problem with BOINC and not with OS-X or CUDA updates?

I would suggest looking in the Chronicle of Higher Education. It's not free, but many libraries have subscriptions.

So I want to buy an iPad 2 and I'm trying to find things around the house that I could sell. I want to get rid of my first generation iPhone. It's got a couple of scratches on the screen and a few on the back. It doesn't turn on but I'm not sure if that's because it simply doesn't work or if it's because the battery is really depleted. How much do you think I could get for it, if anything?

Bug? I would say it is the local backup that's new to 10.7 and set to on by default (System Preference > Time Mashine > Options > Local backup).

Mac OS X 10.6. is 64-bit, but it has two kernels, and the 64-bit kernel only loads when you set it to or on the Xserve as far as I know.
The 32-bit kernel, loaded standardly, will not limit your overall RAM usage, as many Macs can support more than 2GB RAM nowadays, despite a 32-bit kernel.
Take a look at the KIND column in Activity Monitor.
For example: I have 10.6, load the 32-bit kernel and many of my 64-bit applications can take up 3GB RAM, and would even more if I had more than 4GB.

I have about a dozen of those, and the local computer recycling shop always has a bunch in their "$1 mouse pads" bin. I don't imagine they're very rare or valuable.

Anyone know what name of the print type/technique where a glossy graphic is placed over a matte surface? They don't necessarily have different colors, it just shows different textures. Almost like thin plastic sticker is placed over the matte surface.
I've mostly seen them on book covers and product packaging, anyone know what this type of printing is called?

Everything that was said above is correct but I would suggest using Homebrew (https://github.com/mxcl/homebrew) instead of MacPorts.
I started with Fink, then switched to macports because it seemed to have more recent ports. What is the advantage of homebrew over macports?
