This macsales.com page (http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/memory/Apple_MacBook_MacBook_Pro/Upgrade/DDR3) will address your questions.
Nope, not a bit.
Of course it does. Read the question I was answering (http://forums.macrumors.com/showpost.php?p=12295125&postcount=98):
Can anyone tell me what kind of RAM I have to buy for a late 2008 MBP? On Crucial it won't tell me because their website thinks that this machine only supports 4 GB... Can I just get the 8GB RAM kit for the mid-2009 MBPs?
As noted on the OWC page, you must have the correct memory chips, the correct firmware, and be running Snow Leopard.
Unless helping me realize that Crucial RAM is a much better deal than that site you keep pushing counts.
OWC provides clear documentation on what hardware, firmware, and software you need for the upgrade. Based on Baryon's comment, Crucial doesn't even have a clue how much memory those machines can actually support.
OWC also provides clear video and printed documentation on how to perform the upgrade. As Eric Slivka noted in the article that started this discussion (http://www.macrumors.com/2011/03/07/secret-firmware-update-unlocks-support-for-8-gb-ram-on-late-2008-notebooks/), they were the ones who unraveled the mystery of the max memory could be used in those particular Unibody machines.
For that superior service, they charge about $10 more than Crucial. IMHO, one should reward OWC for providing that superior service.
You are welcome to spend your money with whatever vendor you wish.

Will there ever be a release without someone making this 10 year old, stale, not funny in the first place joke?

All I know is that the first game ranks amongst my very favorite. I pre-ordered this one, too. I have a PC gaming rig, and would have bought this anyway, but Valve made two key positive moves in this release-- decisions that get me behind this company in a way that is probably only second to Apple.
1. They released a fully functional version of the Steam client with the PS3 release, making cross platform play and syncing a fully mainstream idea. (Ask EA about this, they're doing it, too.)
2. They released this on day one for the Mac.
I am going to play it exclusively on my Mac, too. Very psyched to play this game!!

Just be sure to invest in anti-static screen roller. Once you've taken the glass off, it's almost impossible to get it back on without being left with a speck of dust trapped between the LCD and glass. 27 inch is twice as frustrating
GREAT post...I could see this going the way of MBP Thermal Paste replacement (albeit with less extreme "fail" results).
How bleeping annoying would that be to save $100 (for an 8GB upgrade)...
My heart says to get one and slap in 16GB...my brain says to order 8GB from Apple....
Edit: lack of SATA III (or confirmation either way) is boggling...Intel still having SATA III issues?

** How much is that warranty?
I'm not 100% sure of the retail cost because I have an employee discount applied to mine. I think it is about 14 dollars a month.

Outside the door to General Motors' Washington office is a photo of the Chevy Volt framed by the U.S. Capitol.
GM loves to market the Volt, the 2011 Motor Trend Car of the Year ("A car of the future you can drive today.") It's an engineering breakthrough, a darling of the "green" media and evidence that stodgy old GM knows how to innovate.
So why, I asked Mike Robinson, GM's vice president of environment, energy and safety policy, is GM selling so few Volts? Just 321 in January, 281 in February, according to GM's monthly sales report. By comparison, Chevy sold nearly 70,000 Silverado pickup trucks during those two months.
"We're on target," he assured me. "We've probably got orders for every one we can build in the next year." Chevy plans to sell 10,000 Volts this year, and another 45,000 next year and, if all goes well, a lot more after that.

so, only about 600 volts this year? seems low.

they said no iPhone 5 at WWDC. This is saying iPhone 5 is coming shortly after WWDC.

God this is the best news of tonight, i can finally get rid of my iPhone 3G.
June will be amazing.
So.. iOS 5 (which is rumored to be a total revamp), A5 Dual Core CPU, upgraded GPU, larger screen, NFC, and a tweaked design yet same form factor. I'm really liking the sound of this.

this definitely makes the imac more appealing to me. I was thinking of getting a macbook pro and replacing my existing macbook, but an imac with that much storage built in is very tempting. I've seen 750GB hard drives available on OWC for a while now, so it's about time apple made it available.

Not sure you could have been any more contradictory with those two statements. Your statement proves the truth in their latest iPad commercial. Can't believe how many people fixate on the underlying technology, insisting that the iPad is inferior to other hardware, at the same time that they overlook, or sometimes even admit (such as you have done here) that the overall experience of the "inferior" iPad is better.
Until Motorola, or Samsung, or anyone else brings a product to market that offers a superior user experience, please refrain from criticizing the iPad for what it isn't. Especially since what it isn't doesn't even exist yet. It's one thing to compete with your competitors, but not really fair when you have to compete with your own (rumored) R&D.
I never said the iPad was inferior to anything. Reread it if you want to. I just am not truly impressed by it. it's only slightly more scifi than a macbook air. It could have been improved apple just doesn't care to.

I'm not surprised, they are probably holding off, so that way when they release iWork/iLife it will be to fanfare rather then just a mediocre entry after the grandiose iPhone.

I was watching till about 20 mins in, it got unwatchable and then clunked out. i have my own dedicated cable modem. so lame.
cmon apple, if you can't manage streaming some of your own stuff, how do you expect others to use quicktime?
Very surprising considering last time they were able to hold up very well..
I forgot what the stats were but it was pretty impressive.
The videos must be on some Servers running on Intel..

i cant see the problem , it is just common sense if you move in another country that you conform with their customs if you want to live there , if you cant conform with that then just stay at home , even applies to.. tourists .
or whatever the nature of your visit in a another country might be
and if common sense is missing then there have to be laws
ok i know some tourists behave like a missing link in evolution without common sense
