PS: Who the ---- rates these threads negative? Ha ha! Id think its either positive or "meh, not interested". But negative?
Also, you guys think theres any goodies on HL3/HL2 Ep.3 ? Gosh I hope so...
I think my single favorite game of the past 5 or 6 years would be either Oblivion, Ratchet & Clank (fill in the blank), or Half-Life 2. All are good for different reasons. But, either way, I have played HUNDREDS of games in that time span and I can't wait to see if there is news on Half-Life 3. It would make my millennium.

At what point will you realize that you live in the world of ideology and the vast majority of others live in the real world?
Probably the same time as he realizes that quoting himself in a different thread doesn't make his original post any more right (or interesting).

Hey how much will OS X Leopard cost?
I just bought my iMac C2D "17 two weeks ago, and I just didn't want to wait until Spring '07 to buy it with Leopard installed on it.
Does Apple offer an upgrade and full versions of the OS X.5?
It would be nice if they offered some type of discount for people who bought their Macs after a certain time frame (Like October '06).

Hm, three so far. Perhaps this thread should be moved somewhere where it could gather more attention, like Community. Stickyed maybe?

But the damn site is all voluntary, no real authority. People could change something on less looked at articles and nobody'd no the difference! My sister's professors do not allow their students to you Wikipedia! Just because something's longer doesn't mean it's bettter! If you've ever used Encyclopaedia Brittanica or the World Book, the authors are pros on the subject, not just some bum that's obcessed with Google!
Off topic...
Still, I look at Wiki first and then I always double-check with other sources of information.
Wiki might have weakness but there's so much information (and images, sounds, etc.) All at the same address!

Anyone bought the 11" Air even though they knew the 13" may of been a better choice and far as productivity and spec's are concerned?
I had both, I choose the 13" MBA for 'practical reasons' ... I'm on my computer a LOT, a larger screen typically means more productivity, more power can come in handy, as can the larger HD and SD slot .... and the 13" isn't really that much less portable than the 11".
Decision made, right? Wrong.
I really miss the 11. What is it that is so damn compelling? For me it's not the price difference ... it's just that perfect size I guess ... so super easy to grab and go, do work on, it just works and is inviting to use, perhaps the most inviting notebook I've ever used.
Anyone else feel the same way or have the same experience?
If so what size did you end up with and why?

The concept is based around adding physical/tactile controls over a touch-sensitive pad.
Prior Art: MacNTouch (http://www.fingerworks.com/MacNTouch_product.html)
Okay, so it doesn't have the "physical/tactile controls" over the touch-sensitive pad, but it is one giant touch-sensitive pad.

I used XP earlier today to install IE7* and had completely forgotten how horrid it is to install anything in Windows. My OS X experience has been so much better I was actually surprised that I had to restart Windows after the IE7 install was complete (which took 5 minutes by itself). I still can't believe how much I'd forgotten about why I hate Windows. What a horrid OS.

So... I posted earlier (ordered- 3/11 7:30pm and got a shipment date of 4/1, arriving 4/6) and decided to check my order status with Apple. As I mentioned it hadn't changed (before lunch). Came back after lunch and noticed people saying their order status HAD changed. So I looked again, 3 hours later... STILL NO CHANGE.
Are people really seeing their shipment dates change? Starting to lean toward a lil' BS... but don't want to cast judgment :(
Yup, it's for real. Ship date bumped up four days Apr 25 to Apr 21 but delivery day bumped only two days, probably because of a weekend, from Apr 28 to Apr 26. I'll try to get one at a B&M store early next week and cancel my online order. The cover I ordered shipped right away - no shortage of those!!

I was just going to say the EXACT same thing! You said it perfectly, whenpaulsparks! That's right, I don't want to see Steve Jobs demo some new Spotlight/Sherlock. I want to see revolutionary, fricken awsome, Vista-crushing, earth shaking features, a totally revamped and polished GUI, Enterprise features, etc. Come on Apple! Don't dissapoint me!I doubt there will be a silver bullet feature that will blow away vista, but overall improvements will take OS X to the next level.

imho they have to release the iphone 5 in the summer, cuz many contracts will ending at this time.
It's not like your phone will stop working when your contract expires. iPhone lovers will wait until the next one comes out, even if their contract has expired. If they can't wait they'll just buy an iPhone 4, considering one's contract wouldn't expire this summer if they already have an iPhone 4.

The way to go, IMHO, is buying a DVD (on Amazon) with an optional iPod download for a dollar extra. Mostly cheaper then $10 and we have it both.
One of the things I'm most curious about Apple making movies available for download is where the download fits into the consumption model, i.e., whether video downloads will be another release window or part of a current release window.
The studios want to capture income off the same properties as many times as possible, but the trend has been toward shorter and shorter release windows to maximize on marketing dollars. (Wal-Mart went ape-crap when one of the studios tried to time DVD release to cable and satellite PPV.)
I would like to see Apple position iPod movies as part of the a broader strategy for higher-resolution content, but I don't see them going for a model where you download the iPod version and get the DVD in the mail. Not when the model is changing away from DVD purchase/rental and toward a PPV model.
Until Apple can figure out a way to provide HD quality with a reasonable download time -- ahem, Mac mini media center -- I think movies will be available only in the quality that TV shows are currently available.

WOW!:D
I bought FCE for $299 in 2008 when I got my macbook. I have had trouble mastering it. I would get a somewhat nice video after hours of editing, only to render and playback to a blue "Not Rendered" video taking up 2gb of my hard drive space. So I uninstalled it, and it has been sitting in my drawer. I also needed more features with an easier interface, so I end up doing some work in iMovie (HD6 and 11) and then bring it into Adobe Premiere Elements 9. I did not want to spend $1500 on a full blown editing software to render nice blue screens.
Looks like FC is going to have the ease of iMovie and Adobe Premiere elements, but be very advanced so I will not be spending hours and screaming because I messed up syncing..
Very nice price tag too....
*Oh, and the only reason I chose Adobe Premiere Elements 9, is because Adobe brought back some of the stuff they stripped out - and i was a heavy user of the older version when I was on Windows.
Very looking forward to the new FC. No more messing up syncing to squeeze in a shot or some audio.
Adding to my wish list...

So now that we have a few people registered, anyone willing to volunteer to help organise a meetup of sorts? I'm certainly willing to (considering I live here) but I need to get a feel of how many people are actually interested,
Okay, I just signed up for the free Exhibit Hall pass. I'd also be willing to help coordinate a meet-up. I'm still not sure what my schedule will be like then and how much I'll be able to attend, but count me in!
