How is this the iPhone competition ? These ads are by ESPN and Verizon, not by Nokia or Motorola.
So it seems to be it's the advertisers that are iPhone obsessed, to the point of using iPhone screen grabs on any device out there, not the iPhone's competition.

Also, iMovie for iPad won't import/edit AVCHD video as from the HF200. It will only import video if it is stored in the DCIM folder, as videos from a digital still camera do. (Yeah, I was hoping to use my iPad as an ultra-light simple video editor, too.)

Figure I'd post it here since it seems mostly related to webdesign, but feel free to move it if it's of more general interest.
Some might think this obvious, but british researchers have found that men and woman have different preferences when it comes to webdesign.
Where visuals are concerned, males favour the use of straight lines (as opposed to rounded forms), few colours in the typeface and background, and formal typography. As for language, they favour the use of formal or expert language with few abbreviations and are more likely to promote themselves and their abilities heavily.
Don't belive it's mentioned in any of the linked pages, but there was a similar study in France and Poland, with similar results.
There's also been a study of websites related to Beauty products and Sports fishing. 77% of the Sports fishing websites were designed by men. More interesting, perhaps, considering the recent research, is that 78% of the Beauty products websites where also designed by men.
Maybe the ones who make Beauty product should consider hiring more female webdesigners?
I'm not aware of the male:female ratio of designers, so whould this be a problem?

iWork Pages has a significant lag in accepting key input to a point that it is a few letters behind. It is proving unusable in taking notes during a discussion with other(s).
Has anyone experienced the something? Is there any fix to this input delay?
I have experienced this, and it's usually when I'm working on a doc that I imported from .doc or .docx - I don't seem to get it when I start a new document actually in Pages. Is this the same for you?

Hi guys,
My name's Ciarn, I'm a 3rd year medic at Peninsula Medical School own in the south west of the UK. In our 4th year we do a project on "Doctors as Teachers" and it requires creating a teaching aid of some kind, then writing it up.
I'm looking for a someone adept at iOS programming that might want to collaborate with me on this project, so that it might benefit both of our careers!
I'm looking to create an iPad app teaching medical students/doctors how to identify various tropical diseases via. microscopy. eg. a medical student on an elective somewhere is working in a small clinic, patients comes in with a fever, he/she takes a quick blood sample, chucks it on a slide and pops it under the microscope and can compare what they see to reference images/videos/descriptions on the app. Below would be an example of a particular subtype of malaria (the difference can be quite subtle so some kind of reference and description about what you're looking for is incredibly useful)
http://embryology.med.unsw.edu.au/Defect/images/Malaria_plasmodium_falciparum.jpg
The idea would be I would source all the content, write all the entries (which will be referenced to journal articles an whatnot) and you would design an application to present this information.
Sorry for the long post, but that's the idea in a nutshell! If anyone is interested please get in touch! There's no rush on this, I'm looking at a timescale of up to 12 months to finish it!

I am video editor and have an Intensity pro card as well. And all its good for is displaying my video from FCP and Motion to a TV monitor. And half the time that is an issue just to get that to work. There own capture software doesn't even work with their own ****. No video just audio maybe.
So I called them about problems I was having and they said well it works with our setup. Which means that have the most basic setup of a computer and Video Editing software and nothing else installed or attached.
WOW! thanks for the help BlackMagic. That cleared up a lot.

ok so as many of you remember about 6months ago comcast bought att shares in the cable broadband market. This wasn't terrible news to me because not many people in my area have cable and the ervice is still very reliable excpet for my email. At first i thought my email problems were due to the panther beta i was using so to be on the safe side , I backed up and re-installed jaguar ...jaguar works fine except for mail.app checking the comcast email addresses...i checked all the field several times and the best it will do is download the mail from a week ago Jun 27 I know there are new emails i've seen them in the webmail client....so then out of desperation i tried entourae which I never really liked and boom it worked like mail.app should be. Any ideas on why entourage does it right and mail.app doesn't? I really like mail.app and want to use it but will i have to have both open at the same time? any ideas from anyone especially comcast users would be great

Hi, I've installed the Lion Developers Preview, all legit. It's working great and everything. But what happens when the grand master comes out? Can I install it over my existing Lion partition or do I have to delete both my Snow Leopard partition and my Lion preview one and do a clean install?
Cheers :) x
Cheers :) x

I ran a text sample of my name through this using all of my fonts and I couldn't replicate it on CS3. When I got to an unreadable foreign language font, it showed those open rectangles for the letters, but no "bong of frustration". I never edited my font list and braille isn't there. Maybe I just don't "see" it...:)

How does a 500mhz G4 compare to a 1ghz G3 performance wise? When I was looking here (http://www.xlr8yourmac.com/G3CARDS/G3_1.1GHz_vs_G4_1GHz_review/index.html) I noticed they cost about the same.
