It's a decent machine for surfing the net, but watch out for flash.
You can't upgrade beyond 10.5 as others have mentioned.
My wife uses a 1.33 ghz iBook G4 for surfing and it's fine.

I had a similar PowerBook. I don't miss cleaning the mouse-ball rollers at all. Seriously, who has time for cleaning mouse balls?
The Performa specs are indeed hilarious. "High-performance, 60MHz CPU"! Wow. Now we're routinely walking around with computers in our pockets that clock about 40X faster than that, are probably more like 500X more powerful altogether, which run days on batteries, with a whole spectrum of connectivity options ranging from 2G to 3G to 3.5G to WiFi and Bluetooth, with GPS, with an accelerometer, with a compass, with a gyroscope, with a camera, with a touch interface, with a color display, with stereo sound and voice and now video calling... and which cost about an order of magnitude less even with inflation. All over about 15-17 years. Astonishing.

Is anyone else having a problem with the keyboard shortcuts in Safari not working after a short period time of using the browser? For some reason my keyboard shortcuts stop working after a while. Nothing I don't have any problems with anything else, just the keyboard shortcuts. A restart of the browser fixes it. Is anyone else seeing this?
Which shortcuts? Copy, Paste?
No problems here with most common shortcuts.

I don't have one. What's the point? Iv'e had mine for over a year and the keys are still clean. Just don't use it right after you eat something with your hands and things like that. Wash your hands

I'm thinking about selling a new unlocked refurb Iphone still in box (taken out to unlock). What would it go for on MR? Is $375 too much? Is craigslist a better option?

no marketplace for noobs until x amount of posts I believe.
I believe that there is a time requirement as well. You have to be a member for 6 months.

I'm afraid you'll be in the US$200 range (assuming you're using US currency). A new dell ultrasharp 17" will be less than $300, and a dell 2005fpw can be had between $400 and $500 (occasionally below $400)

I've got an 8GB iPhone that I purchased on June 29th, 2007 at 6pm :) Item is in nearly perfect shape, there is a small scuff roughly half the size of a grain of rice (honestly) on the back side (see pictures for scuff below). Other than that, shows just a small amount of wear. I'm looking to get $300 for it and am able to ship internationally if need be. The phone will be unlocked and Jailbroken on the newest firmware (1.1.4) when shipped. If you wouldn't like this, just tell me and I'll send it in a "virgin" state. iPhone is a 3.9 Bootloader (the original and has shown to be easier to hack in the past).
Forgot to mention that it includes everything in the original box, most of it not being used too much.

I'd use apple's battery replacement program. You get a refurb iPod the same model as your current one. It is $60 and you don't have to worry about breaking it when replacing the battery (which I did once). It will cost more, but it is like getting a new iPod. I did it recently and was quite happy.

Isn't it a matter of just installing it from scratch, and then restore user (incl. applications) from a Time Machine backup? That's how I installed Lion, and it has worked great at least a number of times; Leopard to Snow Leopard, Snow Leopard to Lion DP1, and to DP2.
Am I missing anything by not installing all from scratch?

An alternate method would be CCC'ing to your backup drive, then hooking the drive up to the new Mac and using Migration Assistant (either on first boot or afterwards). Hooking up the drive or the old Mac should yield identical results. Just make sure that the new Mini doesn't have an account with the same username you're trying to transfer... Migration Assistant will protest.
You're correct in that the current Minis will not run 10.5.

The pedometer does't need anything extra to work. It uses ipod's accelerometer if I remember correctly. pedometer basically just counts your steps and it's not good for running, you will need the nike+ set.
I think that only 5th gen and 6th gen nano have pedemeter.

Thanks! Which one is better?
Another question . People said once I use the turbo SIM I can not turn the cell phone off anymore. Why that?
That's with the first generation Gevey Turbo Sims. If you buy a Gevey Pro you don't need to do that.
But the good thing with the Rebel Micro Sim, you don't have to cut your sim card to fit the custom tray.
